Media files are probably the most abundant in anyone's computer (after system files) so it's no surprise that most people have a range of programs and software to cope. But there is an issue with one format, and that's XviD. That's because XviD.org doesn't provide a compiled version of of XviD codec. You can only get the source which is great for developers but not for watchers. That's where Nic's XviD Codec comes in. As you can gather from its name, Nic's XviD Codec is the necessary codecs to play XviD, and 100% compatible with DivX format.

Nic's XviD Codec is a great little video filter which was specifically designed, as you can guess, to decode videos processed with the XviD codec library. It has two great advantages.
